Wolves finish sixth at Northwood Country Club

MERIDIAN – The Co-Lin golf team finished in sixth place this week in the MACJC Event NO. 5 held at Northwood Country Club in Meridian as the Wolves shot a two-day total of 619.

“It was a rough two days for us at Northwood,” said Wolfpack golf coach Ronny Ross. “Our boys took it on the chin the past few days.”

Dendy receives Arnold Palmer Cup nomination

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln’s Joseph Dendy, a sophomore from Brandon, Miss., recently was nominated for the Arnold Palmer Cup, which will be held at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga. June 9-11.

The event is an annual team competition between American college golfers and European college golfers. The current format of the tournament consists of five four-ball matches, five foursomes, and two sets of two sets of 10 singles matches. The tournament has been held around the world including England, Ireland, Scotland, and the United States.

No. 7 Wolves finish fall season with a second place MACJC finish

SAUCIER – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves wrapped up the fall golf season with a second place MACJC finish at the Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier, Miss. on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament was comprised of nine MACJC schools and six others. The Wolves posted a two day total of 602, while Meridian finished with a team total of 589 to win the tournament. After the first day of play Co-Lin was tied for second with a team total of 305, 15 strokes behind Meridian. The Wolves posted the lowest team total on day two with a 297 to narrow the Eagles lead to 13 strokes.
