WESSON - Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s football program has been sanctioned by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) to forfeit the week one 44-0 win against Mississippi Delta. The forfeiture is due to an ineligible player who participated in the game. The issue has since been resolved.

“We deeply regret this occurred, but took the appropriate action by self-reporting the error to the NJCAA immediately after it was discovered,” said a spokesman for the Co-Lin Athletic Department. “It is an unfortunate error and we fully accept the action that NJCAA has taken.”

The forfeit moves the No. 3 ranked Wolves’ record to 1-1 on the year as the team travels to Mississippi Gulf Coast to take on the Bulldogs Thursday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m.

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College defense is fierce in 2016, as the team has only given up six points in the first two weeks. Many sophomores lead the Co-Lin defense and Michael Graham filled that role in week two against Coahoma. The Southaven native finished the night with seven tackles, three assist, three tackles for loss, one sack, and one interception. The stellar performance landed Graham MACJC Player of the Week.

WESSON – The Wolves of Copiah-Lincoln Community College struggled at times Thursday night as injuries on the offensive line proved problematic. The now 2-0 Wolves prevailed as the defense played well and gave up just six points in the 26-6 victory. “It wasn’t the prettiest win, but we’ll take it,” said head coach Glenn Davis. “We have to play better ball in a lot of areas.” Co-Lin travels to Perkinston next Thursday to take the Bulldogs of Mississippi Gulf Coast at 7:00. Listen to the action live at WMUJ 104.3 in Brookhaven.
