Bracket set for 2017 MACJC State Basketball Tournament

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln’s Lady Wolves’ basketball team is scheduled to play Monday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. in the MACJC State Tournament versus East Mississippi Community College.

Admission is $7.00 for the general public for an all day pass, and there will be four games on Monday.

Lady Wolves finish 2017 regular season with 70-45 victory

POPLARVILLE – The Lady Wolves of Copiah-Lincoln Community College picked up a decisive 70-45 win over Pearl River Community College to end the regular season Thursday night. The Lady Wolves finished 19-3 overall and 12-2 in the MACJC South and will be in action Monday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. as they play in the first round of the MACJC State Tournament versus East Mississippi. The game will take place in Ellisville, MS on the campus of Jones County Junior College. Watch the action live at jcjc.tv or listen live at colinathletics.com and WMJU 104.3 FM in Brookhaven.

“We struggled with our rhythm in the first half,” said head coach Gwyn Young. “Luckily we shot better, and started rebounding the ball in the second half. The more rebounds you get the more opportunities you have, so that really helped us.”

Lady Wolves win big on sophomore night

WESSON – The Lady Wolves shot nearly 50 percent from the floor Monday night as Co-Lin cruised passed Meridian with an 80-65 victory. The win moves the Lady Wolves to 18-3 on the year and 11-2 in the MACJC South Division. Co-Lin’s final regular season game is Thursday, Feb. 23 at 5:30 p.m. as the Lady Wolves travel to Pearl River, followed by the MACJC State Tournament next week at Jones County Junior College. “We hit a couple of great spurts early in the game,” said head coach Gwyn Young. “We tried to spread the ball around floor, and were lucky enough to get some rebounds and put them back in the basket…it wasn’t one of our best games and there is always room for improvement.”
