Pearl Rivers sweeps Co-Lin

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves would score seven runs in the ninth inning of their first game with Pearl River on Wednesday in Wesson. The big inning would not be enough though, as Pearl River took a 20-14 win in a game that saw the teams combine for 36 hits. In game two the Wildcats used an early five run lead to push their way to a 13-5 victory over the Wolves.

Co-Lin and Coahoma split in Wesson

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves and the Coahoma Tigers split a doubleheader on Saturday in Wesson. In game one the Tigers scored the winning run in the top of the ninth inning to take a 5-4 win. In game two the Co-Lin bats woke up in a major way as the Wolves took a 17-7 victory in six innings.

Wolves drop two at No. 1 Hinds

RAYMOND – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves traveled to Raymond on Wednesday and were swept in a divisional doubleheader by the No. 1 Hinds Eagles. In game one Co-Lin got a fantastic pitching performance from Shane Brown, but could not overcome strong pitching from the Eagles in a 2-1 loss. In game two the Eagles used 10 hits and four Co-Lin errors to pick up a 10-3 win.

Wolves sweep Tigers in Booneville

BOONEVILLE – If you’ve seen the 2015 edition of the Copiah-Lincoln baseball team in action this season then you know there is one area in which the Wolves excel. They can hit the baseball. Never has that been more evident than on Thursday when Co-Lin posted a combined 31 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Northeast in Booneville. In game one the Wolves got four runs in the top of the ninth inning to take an 18-17 win over the Tigers. In game two the Wolves built an early six run lead and held off Northeast for a 7-5 win.

WESSON – Playing their first home games in two weeks, the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves split a divisional doubleheader with the East Central Warriors in Wesson on Tuesday. In the nine inning opener the Wolves made the most of East Central pitching miscues to take an 8-4 win in a game that clocked in at three hours. In game two the Wolves had the tying run on second base with two outs, but could not get him home as East Central held on for a 5-4 win.

Wolves drop doubleheader to Northwest

BATESVILLE – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves dropped a doubleheader to the No. 17 Northwest Rangers on Sunday. Due to field conditions the games were moved to South Panola High School in Batesville. Co-Lin was shut down by freshman pitcher Colt Smith who led the Rangers to a 6-0 win in game one. In game two the Wolves jumped to a 3-0 lead in the top half of the first inning before Northwest came back to take a 9-4 win.

Wolves can't hold late leads, swept by Jones

ELLISVILLE – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves dropped a pair of games in Ellisville on Wednesday to the No. 8 Jones County Bobcats. In game one, Co-Lin scored at least one run in every inning but two, but could not hold off a late Bobcat charge in slugfest that Jones captured 20-13. In game two, it was a four-run sixth inning that put Jones over the top in an 8-4 win over the Wolves.

East Mississippi sweeps Co-Lin in Scooba

SCOOBA – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves were swept in a divisional doubleheader at East Mississippi on Friday. The Lions took game one 8-2 and held off Co-Lin in the finale 8-6. The game had been previously scheduled for Saturday, but was moved up due to weather concerns.

Seven errors doom Co-Lin in loss to Baton Rouge

Not much went right in the field for the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves on Tuesday as they committed seven errors and gave up 12 hits to the visiting Baton Rouge Bears. Baton Rouge jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back as they beat Co-Lin 16-6.

Hubbard Puts Co-Lin Past Meridian in Walk-Off Win

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves picked up their first division win of the season in memorable fashion on Sunday afternoon after sophomore outfielder Choc Hubbard hit a walk-off 2-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the home team a 10-8 win over Meridian. The Co-Lin win came in game two of the divisional doubleheader after Meridian took a 9-0 win in game one.

Wolves Swept by Delta

WESSON – The visiting Mississippi Delta Trojans came into Wesson and swept the opening division doubleheader from the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves on Saturday. The Trojans used 14 hits and three Co-Lin errors to power to a 12-3 win in game one. In game two the Wolves again had three errors and saw Delta get 11 hits in a 12-2 win.

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves hosted a full day of baseball on Saturday in Wesson as the Wolves played a round robin with Northwest and Delgado. The Wolves were soundly beaten 13-1 by a hot-hitting Northwest Mississippi team in game one. Co-Lin (6-6) nicely bounced back to defeat No. 6 Delgado 6-4 in the finale on the strength of a sixth inning rally. Delgado took a 2-1 win over Northwest in the second game of the day.

Resser named MACJC Player of the Week

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln sophomore first baseman Austin Resser has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Player of the Week. Resser, a native of Newton, Kansas, went 8-11 with seven singles, one double, four RBIs and one walk in a 2-2 week for the Wolves.

In game two the Wolves had the tying run on second with one out, but failed to advance it in a 10-9 defeat.
