WESSON - On any given day in 2014, the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolfpack baseball team could beat any team in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC). Co-Lin had wins over Meridian, Pearl River, East Central, and Jones sprinkled throughout their schedule. The Wolfpack swept five doubleheaders, with their final sweep (over Southwest) assuring that Co-Lin kept possession of the trophy in the Coca-Cola/Powerade Challenge with the Bears.

Little, Savage sign with four-year colleges

Two Co-Lin baseball players have signed scholarships to continue their careers next season at the university level. Infielder Mitch Little has signed with William Carey University and outfielder Dominic Savage has signed with Wiley College located in Marshall, Texas.

Co-Lin announces date for baseball camp

WESSON - The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves baseball program will host a baseball camp June 16-19, from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Sullivan Field on the Wesson Campus. The camp is for players ages 6-12. Pre-registration is recommended and registration forms can be found at colinathletics.com/camps. Cost of the camp is $80 for pre-registered campers and $90 for walk-up registration. Campers should report to Sullivan Field at 8 a.m. on June 16.

Co-Lin’s Brown garners NJCAA National Player of the Week honors

WESSON – After already garnering the MACJC Player of the Week award on Tuesday, Copiah-Lincoln freshman outfielder Adrian Brown has now been named National Player of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Brown had a week he will never forget by going 12-for-17 (.705) against Northwest Mississippi and Jones County.

Wolves earn split with No. 1 ranked Jones County

WESSON – It isn't every day that a school can claim to have knocked off the No. 1 team in the country, but that was the case for the Co-Lin baseball team on Saturday. The Wolves used 23 hits in an 18-10 win over No. 1 Jones. In game two, it was the Jones bats who did the most damage, posting 19 hits of their own, in a 14-5 Bobcat win.

Rangers comeback sinks Wolves

SENATOBIA – A six run second inning would get the Co-Lin Wolves off to a hot start in their MACJC non-divisional matchup with Northwest on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the Rangers would respond with their own offensive fireworks in an 11-9 Northwest win. In game two, Co-Lin would again take an early lead before succumbing to the Rangers, 15-5.

Wolfpack drop pair to Gulf Coast

PERKINSTON – The Co-Lin Wolves lost in heartbreaking fashion, 4-3, on Thursday night at Mississippi Gulf Coast in Perkinston. Co-Lin gave up the game winning run on a hit batsman in an extra eighth inning. In game one, the Wolves took an early 1-0 lead before succumbing to a Gulf Coast bombardment, 13-2.

Wolfpack sweep Southwest to win the Coca-Cola/Powerade Challenge

WESSON - The Co-Lin Wolfpack snapped an eight game losing streak sweeping a pair of South Division games from the Southwest Mississippi Bears to win the Coca-Cola/Powerade Challenge on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Field. The Wolfpack (11-25, 7-11) shutout the Bears 10-0 in seven innings in the opener and a 7-1 win in the nightcap.

Pearl River sweeps pair from the Wolfpack

POPLARVILLE – The Pearl River Wildcats swept the Copiah-Lincoln Wolfpack in MACJC South Division baseball action in Poplarville on Saturday. The Wildcats took the first game of the doubleheader 9-3 (nine inning game) and a 4-3 victory in the nightcap (seven inning game). The Wolfpack dropped to 9-23 and 5-8 in the South Division. Pearl River improves to 19-15 and 6-8 in division play.

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves hosted the Northwest Rangers for a non-divisional doubleheader in Wesson on Sunday. The visitors from Senatobia would win two close games, 6-4 and 5-3, over the home standing Wolves.

Wolves win two in walk-off fashion

WESSON – Down 8-0 to the Gulf Coast Bulldogs in the fifth inning, the Copiah-Lincoln baseball team had their opponent right where they wanted them. The Wolves would explode for eight runs in the bottom of the fifth and then get the game winning hit in the bottom of the seventh to take an exciting 10-9 win over the Bulldogs. In game two the Wolves would again win with a walk-off hit when Dominic Savage drove in Colby Whitfield to secure a 7-6 win.
